During the last 2 years the state governments have introduced measures to protect new homes from potential damage by bush fires.
Basically the requirements are in 4 levels, being level 1, 2, 3 and flame zone.
Upgrading your home to comply with these regulations varies from ember protection to using approved fire retardant hardwoods in all exterior applications (eg decks and pergolas). In the extreme case of flame zone it may mean timber can't be used as an exterior finish.
At Ozkit Homes we now have our own hardwood milling facility to enable us to provide dried and dressed fire retardant hardwood as standard for all exterior structural timbers. All of our homes can be upgraded to suit any any fire rating. Speak to us today about how we can help you meet your bushfire requirements.
